Crazy Faith
or
Suicide Suicide, It's Happening Again

I fell off the political wagon a little bit due to the headline "things are bad in Iraq," having little to no effect on me. Nevertheless a great deal of ink has been given to Guantamo and prisoners who committed suicide while detained there. Naturally we're worried about our image.

Reuters:

No question, Guantanamo sends, you know, a signal to some of our friends -- provides an excuse, for example, to say, 'The United States is not upholding the values that they're trying encourage other countries to adhere to,'" Bush said.

Well George, I believe friends who look for excuses to criticize ones brutally violent detention program aren't really your friends to begin with. That's grade school 101 for you.

Should we so coldly dismiss the suffering of people suspected of working with terrorists? And what sort of faith must we bestow upon our government to believe that all the detainees are actual suspects and not simply political provocateurs or innocent civilians?

I know its the sort of crazy faith found somewhere between God hates fags faith and Mandy Moore in A Walk To Remember faith.

Its funny that dogs have more sense than men in certain parts of the world.

Perv on:
