Jailed Blogger
Getting Political

This is an interesting situation: A blogger has footage of a protest gone mad, the Feds (already alarming here) want the guy's footage so they can see if he caught the policeman getting beaned in the head, the blogger says that isn't on his tape, the feds then jail him!

In all fairness, the blogger (Josh Wolf) is a smart man for suspecting that the seizing of his footage had more to do with footage of the people who attended this protest than with the violent act, now whether he's brave or stupid for going to jail over it is up in the air.

Here's a short and sweet summary of what's wrong with that picture.

I like how lower approval ratings mean that people just now are realizing how stupid George Bush is also the best comment to bush's assertions that no one ever suggested 9/11 and Iraq were linked or that no one questioned the patriotism of people against the war:

RUSSERT: Do you still believe there is no evidence that Iraq was involved in September 11?
CHENEY: "Well, what we now have that's developed since you and I last talked, Tim, of course, was that report that—it's been pretty well confirmed that [9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta] did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April, several months before the attack." [NBC, Meet The Press, 12/9/01]

CHENEY: If we're successful in Iraq, … we will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11." [NBC, Meet The Press, 9/14/03]

AND these

"What the Democrats are suggesting basically--you can call it 'withdrawal,' you could call it "redeployment," whatever you want to call it--basically, it in effect validates the terrorist strategy."

Cheney told reporters yesterday, "The thing that 's partly disturbing about it [Lieberman's loss] is the fact that, the standpoint of our adversaries, if you will, in this conflict, and the al Qaeda types, the they clearly are betting on the proposition that ultimately they can break the will of the American people."

Hillary Clinton is preventing the lowering of AIDS related funds for New York as well as places that would vote for her in the case of a Presidential run. What a shrewd bitch, how I love you.
